The Kieser Spinal Program

The Kieser Spinal Program has been developed to help clients improve their condition in a safe and supervised environment. The eighteen-week program includes 13 Physiotherapy sessions, progression to Exercise Physiologist/Scientist supervised exercise sessions, independent strengthening program and an education program. 

Clients need a referral from a general practitioner to access the program. Eligility for the program includes a pathological diagnosis of the lumbar spine (using imaging), a pain level of 4/10 or higher and being a candidate for surgery in the next three years.

The Kieser Hip & Knee Osteoarthritis Program

The Kieser Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis Program has been developed to help clients improve their condition in a safe and supervised environment. The 12-week program includes a Physiotherapy assessment and treatment, Exercise Physiologist/Scientist supervised exercise sessions an iIndependent strengthening program on Kieser equipment and an education program

Clients need a referral from a general practitioner to access the program. Eligility for the program includes a primary diagnosis of hip or knee OA, pain of 4/10 or higher over the last month and clients must be considered to be a candidate for hip or knee joint replacement surgery in the next three years.

What does the program cost?
HIF will cover the full cost of the program for eligible members.

Do I need a medical referral for the program? 
Yes, clients need a specific type of referral from a general practitioner to access the program. Kieser can provide you with an appropriate referral form to take to your general practitioner.

When can I access the program?
HIF will fully fund the program for eligible members who commence prior to 30th September 2023. 

HIF Member Eligibility

To be eligibile for funding for a Kieser program you must have HIF hospital cover for 12 months or longer and you must not have enrolled in another HIF funded chronic disease program for the same condition in the previous 12 months. Current Kieser clients are not eligible for HIF funded programs. Further eligibility criteria apply. Please contact Kieser to find out if you are eligible.
