Kieser Mosman Charity Fundraiser
On Wednesday, 24 September, Kieser Mosman partnered with Raising Up Hope for Uganda (RUHU) to host a charity fundraiser. The evening was filled with trivia, raffles, silent auctions and plenty of fun.
The event was inspired by Kieser Mosman member Pip, who has been raising money for RUHU to support a young Ugandan woman named Rebecca. RUHU provides safe homes, education and healthcare for vulnerable children, with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty within their communities.
The raffle and silent auction featured an incredible range of prizes, including a private yacht experience, original artworks and a 12-month Kieser membership. Congratulations to all the lucky winners on the night!
Words from Pip
On a recent trip to Uganda, I had the incredible privilege of meeting a courageous and beautiful young woman named Rebecca. During our visit, we also spent time with an organisation called RUHU.
Rebecca’s story is one of resilience, hope, and the power of community. At just 3 years old, she was found abandoned on the side of the street. RUHU took her in, gave her a home, a family and the chance to dream of a future.
Now 19 years old, she has graduated high school, an amazing achievement in itself, and dreams of becoming a teacher. She wants to give back, to inspire and educate children just like her. But right now, there’s a big hurdle: there is no funding for her to attend university.
Fundraising success
Thanks to everyone involved, the fundraiser raised over $16,000 on the night. With Pip’s earlier contributions, the total donation reached more than $22,500, beating the original goal of $18,000.
These generous donations will help Rebecca go to university to study teaching. With the amount raised exceeding expectations, the additional funds will also help a young boy, Shafiq, in his journey to attend university.
The Kieser Mosman community came together for an unforgettable evening of fun and giving. Thanks to everyone involved, the night was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact for a truly worthy cause.
