Machine of the Month - B1 Leg Extension Machine

Keep Your Legs Strong with the B1

The B1, or leg extension, isolates and strengthens the quadriceps muscles.

The B1 isolates the quadriceps muscles by extending your leg at the knee joint. The B1 can be used as a remedial exercise for knee issues, both to give the joint some loaded movement, but also to strengthen the muscles to improve patellar tracking issues.

Almost every movement that you do with your legs on a day to day basis involves using your quads. Activities such as cycling, getting up from your chair, bending down to pick something up off the ground, going up stairs and getting in and out of your car all require strength through your quads.

Important Technique Points

  • Be sure to only grip the handles loosely
  • Remember to keep your back in contact with the backrest and your neck, shoulders and arms relaxed
  • Ensure you keep your toes slightly pointed out.

If you would like to add the B1 to your training program, be sure to talk to an instructor.
