Navigating Support at Home and Ageing Well
This free community information session is designed to help make sense of aged care, Support at Home, and what it really means to stay healthy and independent as we age.
You’ll hear from leading voices in the sector: Katie Gaunt, Partner at Minchin Moore; Ryan Ebert, CEO of Sue’s Home Care; and Kaelia De Netto, Clinic Leader at Kieser Mosman. Together, they’ll unpack how the system operates in practice, what changes are on the horizon, and how to plan proactively – before decisions become time-critical.
What we'll cover:
- what support at home is, how to access it, and what to look for when choosing services
- key changes under the new Aged Care Act and their practical implications
- advanced care planning, enduring powers of attorney, and authorised representatives
- ACAT assessments, wait times, and realistic timelines
- the role of strength training and physical activity in staying independent and enjoying later life.
Who this session is for:
- those with ageing parents looking to understand the system and plan ahead
- anyone looking to get a better understanding of the aged care space and the importance of strength training for healthy ageing.
