How exercise physiology can help
Working with an exercise physiologist can help:
- build muscle mass and strength
- support bone health
- improve balance and coordination
- support heart health
- improve blood glucose control
- manage long-term health conditions.
Conditions we help manage with exercise physiology
We support people with a wide range of conditions, including:
- osteoporosis and low bone density
- type 2 diabetes
- heart disease
- high blood pressure
- brain and nerve conditions, including stroke recovery and Parkinson’s disease
- cancer – before, during and after treatment
- polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) – the new name from 2026, formerly called polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
- healthy weight management
- reduced strength, balance or confidence.
No matter how long you’ve had your condition, the right exercise program can help. Our focus is on your long‑term health, strength, independence and quality of life.
Looking for help with an injury, ache or pain instead? Our physiotherapy services may be the right place to start. If you're feeling unsure, book an initial consultation and we'll guide you. Sometimes you'll work with both a physio and an exercise physiologist together.
What we do
Our exercise physiologists are university-qualified and accredited through Exercise Sports Science Australia, or ESSA for short. They meet national standards for safe, evidence-based care. And they work with people managing chronic conditions and complex health needs.
Our clinical exercise physiology services follow a clear path.
Assessment
Health checks plus strength, body composition, balance, movement, and cardiovascular testing.
Support along the way
Coaching to help you build new habits, and education about your condition. Plus, regular reviews to track progress.
Your program
A personalised exercise program. This is delivered through supervised sessions on Kieser equipment. Sessions typically run for about 30 minutes, two times per week.
You can also do small group classes, where suitable.
Long-term planning
Programs evolve with your health and goals. Progression planning keeps you moving forward.
Equipment is a key part of how we work. We use specialised machines, unique to Kieser and engineered in Switzerland. Each machine isolates specific muscle groups and is set to suit your size, comfort and ability. This enables you to train safely and see measurable progress over time.
Why choose Kieser exercise physiology services?
Kieser is a clinic – not a gym. No mirrors. No music. No pressure. No guesswork. Just a calm, focused and welcoming space where clinical care comes first.
Strength training is at the centre of what we do.
Australian health guidelines say adults should do strength training at least twice a week. It can help you:
- reduce pain
- move better
- support your overall health
- stay independent, for longer.
What makes us different is our clinical approach to strength training.
Our exercise physiologists work alongside physiotherapists and exercise scientists. So you have a whole team supporting your health and helping you stay strong for the long term. You won’t do this alone.
Our goal is simple: to help you get stronger.
Getting older is inevitable. Losing strength doesn’t have to be.
Your exercise physiology journey at Kieser
Your first visit is a 45-minute initial consultation with an accredited exercise physiologist.
In this session, they'll:
- review your medical history and current concerns
- assess your strength, mobility and function
- identify what may be affecting your condition
- discuss your goals with you
- explain how exercise can support your health
- create a personalised treatment plan.
From there, you’ll start a supervised program designed for you.
Our focus is not just on short-term results. We help you build long-term strength so you can stay active, independent and confident.
Exercise physiology group classes
For some people, group exercise classes help stay consistent and build confidence.
Exercise physiologists lead our small group sessions for different health conditions. Classes follow structured programs that progress safely over time. You’ll train alongside others, with clinical support.

- Private health – most extras policies include exercise physiology cover. We accept on-site Hicaps claiming.
- NDIS – exercise physiology services may be available through eligible NDIS plans.
- Support at Home – exercise physiology services may be available as part of coordinated care to help you stay living at home.
- Workplace and transport accident schemes – exercise physiology services may be available through schemes such as WorkSafe, TAC and DVA.
If you're unsure about funding and access options, our team can help. We’ll work it out together at your initial consultation.
