Initial Physiotherapy Assessment
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What happens during the initial physiotherapy assessment?
The first step for all clients at Kieser is an initial assessment with a physiotherapist. Over the course of this 45-minute consultation your physiotherapist will undertake a complete review of your medical history, physical condition, mobility, training background, personal goals and perform an initial back strength test. After your initial assessment with the physiotherapist they will either recommend a course of physiotherapy if required, or schedule your introductory training session with one of our instructors.
Will a back strength test be performed during the initial physiotherapy assessment?
Your physiotherapist will perform a back strength test on our Lumbar Extensor (LE) machine during your initial assessment as long as your physical condition permits.
What do I need to bring with me for the initial physiotherapy assessment?
Please wear comfortable clothes as your physiotherapist may have you do some stretching. Be sure to bring your private health card as we attract rebates for all physiotherapy appointments at Kieser. You will also be emailed a link to an online registration form prior to your appointment. If you are unable to fill this form out prior to your appointment, please arrive 10 minutes early to take care of any paperwork.
Do I need to sign an agreement during this appointment?
No, this appointment is just to perform an initial assessment and provide you with a treatment plan. Should you decide to continue with Kieser, you will be booked for an introducotry session with one of our Exercise Scientists who will introduce you to our equipment and explain more about our subscriptions.
