Meet Kieser Exercise Scientist, Georgia Jurkovich. Originally from New Zealand, she has become an integral member of our Kieser Essendon team.
"In addition to my studies at Deakin University in nutrition and dietetics, I have been working at Kieser since the beginning of 2022 in my role as an Exercise Scientist. I was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand and I have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Recreation with a major in Sport and Exercise Science and Nutrition. One of the things that drew me to my undergrad degree was the emphasis placed on developing high-quality clinicians. I also found the clinical experiences I had in the high-performance sector to be invaluable in this regard. In order to further my career, I sought to work in the clinical space to help further my skills as a graduate and as a future dietitian.
In January of 2022, I moved my life and started fresh in Melbourne, in part because of the employment prospects in my undergraduate and postgraduate field. Since there is no such position as an Exercise Scientist in New Zealand, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to put my undergraduate degree to use while still studying, where I have already assisted hundreds of Australians in improving their health and fitness.
I am lucky enough to be a part of a team at Essendon that has a great team culture, being provided with regular professional development sessions, and connections in the nutrition sector to assist me with my academic studies. I've learned a lot since moving to Australia, both personally and professionally, and I'm excited to see what else I can accomplish with the help of Kieser!"
