Meet Kieser Physiotherapist, Katie Elliott. Originally from the UK, she has become an integral member of our Kieser team.
"I completed my physiotherapy degree in the UK and graduated in 2014, I worked in the public and private sector for 3 years before making the big move to Australia!
I joined Kieser in late 2019 as a Senior Physiotherapist and since being welcomed by the amazing team, doors have just opened for me. Alongside a busy and varied caseload, I became interested in the relationship we have with other medical professionals, especially GPs. I became the Partnership Coordinator at a Melbourne Clinic and loved the challenge of building relationships with doctors and creating seamless communication and referral pathways to improve client outcomes.
With Kieser I have had the opportunity to work in three different states and be part of the startup team for two new clinics, one in Hobart and one in Brisbane. This has enabled me to explore different parts of Australia while working in a new and challenging environment.
I am now a Regional Partnership Lead and spend two days a week with the National Clinic Support Team building relationships with surgeons and other specialist to help optimise their client care and organising educational and networking events. I still treat clinically three days a week and mentor junior physiotherapists which I love, as it gives me the variety I need in my career.
I work closely with many people I admire both professionally and personally, and I am looking forward to my next 10 years at Kieser and can't wait to see what is yet to come!
As an English physiotherapist who worked in musculoskeletal outpatients in a busy London hospital working at Kieser has been an easy and welcome transition. I now have the luxury of more time with my clients, great facilities to utilise in my treatment planning and to work with a team that prides themselves with continued personal development alongside an amazing social culture.
Working at Kieser Australia has cemented my love of being a physiotherapist and a love of exploring a new and exciting country. The work-life balance here is second to none and you will often find me on the beach after my shifts or camping for the long weekends."
